Take & Bake Savory Butternut-Fontina Galette
The sleeper hit of Cathy's recent pie tasting! This savory open face tart is filled with roasted butternut squash, fontina cheese and caramelized onions, seasoned with fresh sage, garlic, and a touch of cayenne. The all-butter crust has a sprinkle of sea salt. It would make a perfect appetizer or vegetarian entree for Thanksgiving. It is sold only with the Take & Bake option because Cathy thinks it tastes amazing when hot out of the oven! Complete directions will be provided. (Friday pickup only).
Ingredients
Crust: unbleached flour, butter, water, sugar, salt
Filling: butternut squash, fontina cheese, onions, walnuts, apple cider vinegar, sugar, olive oil, garlic, honey, sage, salt, pepper, cayenne pepper
Quantity
one tart, about 8" diameter.
Would serve 8-10 for appetizers, or 4 as an entree
